St Albans

St Albans is a city in Hertfordshire, England, north of London, beside the site of the Roman town of Verulamium. It grew around the abbey built at the shrine of Saint Alban, traditionally Britain's first Christian martyr, whose church is now the cathedral. Two battles of the Wars of the Roses were fought there in 1455 and 1461.
