State Great Khural

1992 · 20th century

The State Great Khural is the unicameral parliament of Mongolia, established under the democratic constitution of 1992. It has 126 members since 2024 and elects the prime minister and government, while the president is chosen by direct election. Its name revives that of the Great Khural of the Mongolian People's Republic, itself inspired by the khuriltai, the great assemblies of the Mongol nobility.
