Stefan Milutin
Stefan Milutin was King of Serbia from 1282 to 1321, after his brother Stefan Dragutin gave up the throne. He conquered much of northern Macedonia from the Byzantine Empire, including Skopje, and later made peace by marrying the Byzantine princess Simonis. He fought his brother over the succession, drew wealth from the kingdom's silver mines and founded many churches, among them Gračanica.
