Syrian Wars
The Syrian Wars were a series of conflicts fought between the Ptolemaic and Seleucid kingdoms during the third and second centuries BCE. They centred on control of Coele-Syria, the strategically and commercially valuable territory between Egypt and Syria. Accounts of the Ptolemaic Empire identify them as the kingdom's key military conflicts, which drained resources from both Hellenistic dynasties.
