Systema Naturae
Systema Naturae is the work in which Carl Linnaeus set out his classification of nature into the three kingdoms of animals, plants and minerals, divided into classes, orders, genera and species. First published at Leiden in 1735 as a short folio, it grew through many editions, and its tenth edition of 1758 is the formal starting point of zoological nomenclature.
