Tanit
Tanit was the chief goddess of Carthage and the Punic world, often paired with the god Baal Hammon and called 'face of Baal'. Her emblem, a triangle topped by a horizontal bar and a disc, appears on thousands of stelae, coins and mosaics from North Africa, Sicily, Sardinia and Ibiza. She was associated with fertility and protection, and under Roman rule her cult continued as that of Caelestis.
