Bulla Regia

Bulla Regia is an ancient city in north-western Tunisia, near Jendouba. A residence of the Numidian kings, as its name suggests, it became a prosperous Roman town after the annexation of Numidia. It is best known for its Roman villas with underground storeys, built to escape the summer heat, which preserved fine floor mosaics in place.
