Teanum Sidicinum

Also known as Teano

Teanum Sidicinum, modern Teano in northern Campania, Italy, was the chief town of the Oscan-speaking Sidicini, set in the hills between the Roccamonfina volcano and the Volturno. Their conflict with the Samnites in 343 BCE drew Rome into its first war with Samnium. It later became a Roman town on the Via Latina, whose theatre and other remains survive.
