Tell Nebi Mend
Tell Nebi Mend is an archaeological mound on the Orontes river south-west of Homs in western Syria, identified with the Bronze Age city of Kadesh. Kadesh controlled the route through the Homs gap and was fought over by Egypt and the Hittites, most famously in the Battle of Kadesh of about 1274 BCE. Excavations by French and later British teams have uncovered levels from the Neolithic to the Roman town of Laodicea ad Libanum.
