Theuderic II

587–613 · 7th century · Also known as Theuderic II of Burgundy

Theuderic II was the Merovingian king of Burgundy from 595 and of Austrasia from 612 until his death in 613, a son of Childebert II. Much of his reign was dominated by his grandmother Brunhild, and he fought his brother Theudebert II, whom he defeated and had killed in 612. He expelled the Irish monk Columbanus from his kingdom around 610.
