Person
Thohanbwa
Thohanbwa (died 1543) was a Shan prince, son of Sawlon of Mohnyin, who became king of Ava after the Shan confederation captured the city in 1527. Distrusting the Burmese monkhood, he became notorious for killing monks and plundering pagodas. He was assassinated in 1543 by his own ministers, and Bayinnaung's Toungoo later broke Shan power.
