Thracians

The Thracians were an ancient Indo-European people of south-eastern Europe, living in the lands of modern Bulgaria, northern Greece, European Turkey and parts of Romania. Divided into many tribes, among them the Odrysians, Getae and Bessi, they traded with the Greek colonies of the coast and were famed for their horsemen, gold and silver work and tombs. Rome annexed Thrace in 46 CE, and their language died out in late antiquity.
