Seuthes III

r. c. 330–300 BCE · 4th century BCE

Seuthes III was a king of the Odrysian Kingdom in Thrace in the late 4th century BCE. He resisted Lysimachus, Alexander's successor in Thrace, but eventually accepted his overlordship. He founded the city of Seuthopolis near modern Kazanlak in Bulgaria, and his tomb, with a bronze head of the king, was found in the Golyama Kosmatka mound in 2004.
