Golyama Kosmatka

4th–3rd century BCE · 4th century BCE

Golyama Kosmatka is a Thracian burial mound near Shipka in the Kazanlak Valley of Bulgaria. Excavated in 2004 by Georgi Kitov, it contains a monumental stone tomb thought to be that of the Odrysian king Seuthes III. Its finds include a lifelike bronze head, widely taken as a portrait of the king, a gold wreath and other grave goods, now in the Kazanlak museum.
