Toluids

The Toluids were the descendants of Tolui, the youngest son of Genghis Khan. In 1251 the Toluid prince Möngke became Great Khan, displacing the line of Ögedei, and his brothers Kublai and Hulagu founded the Yuan dynasty in China and the Ilkhanate in Iran. Ögedeid resistance under Kaidu challenged their supremacy for several decades.
