Torna Fort
Torna Fort is a hill fort in the Sahyadri range of the Western Ghats, near Pune in western India. Its capture by Shivaji in 1646 was one of his first military successes and is often regarded as the beginning of the Maratha state. Accounts of the Maratha Empire list it among the strategic forts, with Rajgad and Raigad, through which Shivaji consolidated his power.
