Treaties of Tilsit
The Treaties of Tilsit were signed in July 1807 by Napoleon with Alexander I of Russia and Frederick William III of Prussia, after the French victory at Friedland. Prussia lost about half its territory: its Polish lands formed the Duchy of Warsaw, and Danzig became a free city under French control. Russia joined the Continental System against Britain, and the settlement marked the peak of Napoleon's power in Europe.
