Treaty of Resht

1732 · 18th century · Also known as Treaties of Resht

The Treaty of Resht was an agreement of 1732 between Russia and Iran, by which Russia agreed to return parts of the Caspian provinces it had occupied after the collapse of Safavid power. It was negotiated while Nader was restoring Iranian authority. Accounts of the Afsharid Empire cite it, together with the Treaty of Ganja of 1735, as part of Nader's recovery of Iranian territory.
