Tübingen
Tübingen is a university town on the River Neckar in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, south of Stuttgart. Its university, founded in 1477, and the Protestant seminary known as the Stift trained generations of Württemberg clergy and officials, including Hegel, Hölderlin and Schelling. In the nineteenth century the Tübingen school of theology under Ferdinand Christian Baur shaped modern biblical criticism.
