Upper Lusatia

Upper Lusatia is a historical region on the upper Spree and Neisse, centred on Bautzen and Görlitz, today divided between Germany and Poland. Settled by the Sorbs, it was long held by the Bohemian crown, while its six leading towns formed the Lusatian League in 1346. It passed to the Electorate of Saxony in 1635 and remains home to a Sorbian minority.
