Velama
The Velamas are a Telugu-speaking landholding community of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in southern India. Velama warrior families served the Kakatiya dynasty, and after its fall the Recherla Velamas ruled Telangana from Rachakonda and Devarakonda in the 14th and 15th centuries.
