Vexin
The Vexin is a historical region of northern France between the Seine, the Oise and the Epte. After 911 it was divided along the Epte into the Norman Vexin, part of Normandy, and the French Vexin around Pontoise, held by the French kings. The frontier was long contested between the dukes of Normandy and the Capetians, and William the Conqueror received his fatal injury during a campaign there in 1087.
