Vivarais
The Vivarais is a historical region of south-eastern France, west of the Rhône, named after its episcopal city of Viviers and largely corresponding to the modern Ardèche department. It took over the territory of the Gallic Helvii, belonged to the Kingdom of Arles in the Middle Ages and passed to the French crown in the late 13th and early 14th centuries.
