Vivi
Vivi was the first station founded by Henry Morton Stanley in 1879 on the north bank of the lower Congo River, opposite present-day Matadi, as the base for his work for Leopold II. It served as the first capital of the Congo Free State until the administration moved downstream to Boma in 1886.
