State
Waalo
Waalo was a Wolof kingdom in the lower Senegal River valley in present-day Senegal. According to tradition, Ndiadiane Ndiaye unified Waalo, Cayor, Baol, Sine and other Wolof-speaking states into a loose confederation centred on Jolof. Accounts of the Jolof Empire treat Waalo as one of the founding constituent states of the empire.
