Person
Wahriz
Wahriz was a Sasanian Persian commander sent by Khosrow I around 570 to help the Himyarite noble Sayf ibn Dhi Yazan drive the Aksumites out of Yemen. Leading a small force, he defeated the Aksumite army and killed its ruler, Masruq, son of Abraha. Yemen became a Sasanian dependency, and Wahriz later governed it himself.
