Walderada

6th century · 6th century

Walderada was a Lombard princess of the sixth century, daughter of King Wacho. She married the Frankish king Theudebald of Austrasia and, after his death in 555, his great-uncle Chlothar I, who gave her up because the Church condemned the marriage. She was then married to Garibald I, the first known Agilolfing duke of Bavaria, and was the mother of Theodelinda.
