Wangcheng
Wangcheng, the 'Royal City', was the seat of the Zhou kings near modern Luoyang in Henan during much of the Eastern Zhou period. Traditionally founded by the Duke of Zhou as part of the eastern capital, it later became the centre of the small Duchy of Western Zhou. Qin captured it in 256 BCE, ending the Zhou dynasty, and remains of its walls have been excavated in Luoyang.
