Yaruba dynasty
The Yaruba dynasty ruled Oman from 1624 to 1742. Under Nasir ibn Murshid and his successors it united the country under Ibadi imams, drove the Portuguese from Muscat in 1650 and built a sea power that took Mombasa and other Swahili towns on the East African coast. A civil war over the succession and a Persian invasion ended its rule, and the Busaidi dynasty replaced it.
