Yin Shan

The Yin Shan are a range of mountains in Inner Mongolia, north of the great bend of the Yellow River. They formed a frontier zone between the Chinese plains and the steppe. In 682 CE Ilterish Qaghan began to rebuild Turkic power with a handful of followers in the Yin Shan, founding the Second Turkic Khaganate.
