c. 1300–1046 BCE · 14th century BCE · Also known as Ruins of Yin

Yinxu, the 'Ruins of Yin', is the site of the last capital of the Shang dynasty, near Anyang in Henan, China, occupied from about 1300 BCE until the Zhou conquest. Excavations since 1928 have revealed palace and temple foundations, royal tombs, bronze workshops, the tomb of Fu Hao and tens of thousands of inscribed oracle bones.
