York Factory

York Factory was a fur-trading post of the Hudson's Bay Company at the mouth of the Hayes River on Hudson Bay, in today's Manitoba. Founded in 1684, it was for two centuries the company's main depot, where Cree and other traders brought furs and goods were shipped to and from Britain. It is now a national historic site.
