Yorkshire

Yorkshire is a historic county of northern England, the largest in the country, stretching from the Pennines to the North Sea. It formed the core of the Anglian kingdom of Deira and later of the Viking Kingdom of York, whose settlers left hundreds of Scandinavian place-names. Its traditional divisions were the North, East and West Ridings around the city of York.
