1910s–1920s · 20th century

The Young Khivans were a reformist movement in the Khanate of Khiva, formed in the 1910s on the model of the Young Turks and the Jadid reformers of Central Asia. In 1920, allied with the Red Army, they overthrew the last khan, Said Abdullah, and the Turkmen warlord Junaid Khan, and led the new Khorezm People's Soviet Republic until communists displaced them.
