Abdeen Palace
Abdeen Palace is a royal palace in central Cairo, built for Khedive Ismail and completed in 1874, and the main residence of Egypt's rulers until 1952. On 4 February 1942 British tanks surrounded it while Ambassador Miles Lampson forced King Farouk to appoint a Wafd government under Mustafa el-Nahhas. It is now a museum and presidential palace.
