Adandozan
Adandozan was king of Dahomey from 1797 to 1818. His reign coincided with a decline in the Atlantic slave trade and with continued tribute to Oyo. In 1818 he was overthrown by his brother Ghezo with the support of the Brazilian trader Francisco Félix de Souza and court factions, and his name was struck from the official list of kings, so that he was long omitted from royal history.
