Afaqis
The Afaqis, meaning "people of the horizons", were the immigrant nobles of the Bahmani Sultanate and its successor states in the Deccan, mostly Persians, Arabs and Central Asians who came by sea from the fourteenth century onwards. Their rivalry with the Deccanis, Muslims long settled in the Deccan and their Abyssinian allies, divided the Bahmani court and contributed to its break-up.
