Alexander Romance
The Alexander Romance is a legendary account of the life of Alexander the Great, falsely attributed to his historian Callisthenes and compiled in Greek by the 3rd century CE from earlier material. It makes Alexander the son of Nectanebo II, the last native pharaoh of Egypt. Translated and adapted into Latin, Syriac, Persian, Ethiopic and many other languages, it became one of the most widely read stories of the medieval world.
