Altava
Altava was a Roman town in Mauretania Caesariensis, today Ouled Mimoun near Tlemcen in north-western Algeria. An inscription there dated 508 names Masuna as king of the peoples of the Moors and Romans, the main evidence for a Romano-Berber kingdom in the region. It remained a centre of Berber rulers until the Arab conquest.
