Ammaedara
Ammaedara was a Roman town in the west of present-day Tunisia, at modern Haïdra near the Algerian border. It was the first base of the Third Augustan legion in Africa, set on the lands of the Musulamii, and became a colony of veterans when the legion moved to Theveste under Vespasian. Its ruins include an arch, a Byzantine fortress and several churches.
