Artaxias IV

r. 422–428 · 5th century · Also known as Artashir

Artaxias IV was the last Arsacid king of Armenia, ruling the Sasanian-controlled part of the country. In 428 the Armenian nobles asked the Persian king Bahram V to depose him, and the Armenian monarchy was abolished. Eastern Armenia then became the Sasanian province of Persarmenia under a marzban.
