Atharvaveda

Also known as Atharva Veda

The Atharvaveda is the fourth of the Vedas, the sacred texts of Hinduism, compiled around 1000 BCE or somewhat later. Besides hymns, it contains spells and charms for healing, protection, love and harming enemies, as well as speculation on the cosmos, giving a picture of everyday religion beyond the great sacrifices. It mentions peoples such as the Angas and Magadhas and praises King Parikshit of the Kurus.
