Aulic Council
The Aulic Council, or Reichshofrat, was one of the two supreme courts of the Holy Roman Empire, alongside the Imperial Chamber Court. Sitting at the emperor's court in Vienna, it heard disputes between imperial estates and feudal cases. Its sentences could place cities and princes under the imperial ban, as with Donauwörth in 1607.
