Ayarmaca
The Ayarmaca were an Andean people whose lordship, centred north-west of Cusco in Peru, was one of the main rivals of the early Inca kingdom. Inca traditions recorded by the Spanish tell of wars, captures and royal marriages between the two, and archaeology suggests they controlled a large part of the Cusco region before the Incas absorbed them in the 15th century.
