Azekah
Azekah was an ancient fortified town in the Shephelah, the low hills of Judah, at Tel Azekah in present-day Israel. It overlooked the Elah valley, the setting of the biblical story of David and Goliath. One of the Lachish letters, written as the Babylonians advanced in 588–586 BCE, reports that the signals of Azekah could no longer be seen, suggesting that it had already fallen.
