The Battle of Almansa was fought on 25 April 1707 near Almansa in south-eastern Spain during the War of the Spanish Succession. A Franco-Spanish army under the Duke of Berwick defeated the allied forces of Britain, Portugal and the Netherlands led by the Earl of Galway.
