Birnin Kebbi
Birnin Kebbi is a town in north-western Nigeria, a capital of the Hausa Kingdom of Kebbi from the 16th century. Its walls protected the kingdom founded by Muhammadu Kanta, but in 1805 it fell to the Fulani jihad of Usman dan Fodio, and Kebbi's rulers continued their resistance from Argungu. It is today the capital of Kebbi State.
