Bissandugu

Bissandugu is a town in the Kankan region of eastern Guinea that served as the capital of Samori Ture's Wassoulou Empire from the 1870s. In 1887 Samori and the French signed a treaty there that recognised the Niger as the boundary between their territories. French troops captured the town in 1891 during their campaigns against Samori, who then moved his state eastwards.
