State
Blambangan
Blambangan was a Hindu kingdom at the eastern tip of Java, the last Hindu-Buddhist state on the island, which survived into the eighteenth century. Often allied with or subject to Balinese kingdoms, it resisted the campaigns of Sultan Agung of Mataram in the 1630s. It came under Dutch East India Company control between 1767 and 1772, and its territory corresponds to modern Banyuwangi.
