Bono people
The Bono, also called Abron, are an Akan people of west-central Ghana and eastern Côte d'Ivoire. Their state of Bono-Manso is regarded as one of the earliest Akan kingdoms, and groups of Bono migrants moving west from the late 17th century founded the Kingdom of Gyaman around Bondoukou. Like other Akan peoples they trace royal descent through the mother's line.
